VCKC owns several kayaks that can be used by our members for club activities. For a list of club kayaks, please see VCKC Club Kayaks.
Please note you must be a current VCKC member in order to use club kayaks. If you are not a member, you can join online at the Members page.
VCKC has boats that are available to members for club courses and paddles at no charge. All kayaks come with a PFD, paddle, pump and throw line. When not scheduled for club event use, these boats are also available to members for personal use on the Gorge Waterway on the club side of the Tillicum Bridge. Members must have Flatwater or equivalent skills and must paddle with a buddy. Please contact the Kayak Bookings Volunteer to book a kayak for personal use.
When you register for a course, workshop or club paddle, please indicate if you would like to book a club kayak. It is your responsibility to transport the kayak to and from the launch site. Therefore, if you register for any club activity away from the club house, you will have to arrange your own transportation including roof racks and tie downs. Please review the Kayak Booking Guidelines and follow them when picking up a kayak.
USE OF CLUB EQUIPMENT
KAYAKS: All kayaks are for club paddles, events and courses, AND when not needed for scheduled activities, are available for use by members paddling west of Tillicum Bridge only on the Gorge and Portage Inlet waterways, with at least 2 kayaks in the group, and each paddler having satisfied VCKC of their ability to wet exit and perform an assisted rescue, at the discretion of the kayak program director or the booking volunteer.
Instructors and trip leaders will organize use of club kayaks, on an event by event basis, for club paddles, classes and workshops at their convenience and discretion. Any damage to or loss of club kayaks or gear is the responsibility of the user.
