Big Canoe is excited to be offering day trips open to all club members this spring! All members welcome. 

The location for this trip will be the calm waters of Saanich Inlet. Members will depart together from the VCKC clubhouse at 8 am to carpool to our launch location at the Tsartslip Ramp in Brentwood Bay. After launching we will head south down to McKenzie Bight/Elbow Point, cross over to  Spectacle Creek and up the Malahat side as far as Bamberton Park before making out return trip back over to the Peninsula and our launch location at Tsartslip. This trip will be 2-4 hours at a relaxed pace, with a snack/lunch break at McKenzie Bight. 

 A few key notes:

1. Please bring proper clothing - e.g., rubber boots or neoprene foot-ware, merino wool or synthetic quick drying underlayers, rain gear, waterproof gloves (e.g., rubber dish gloves).

2. Bring complete change of clothes in a drybag, just in case, No capsizes are expected (they never are), but we always prepare for the worst-case scenario. Safety first!

3. Bring sufficient water/snacks for the day and a packed lunch (in a dry bag). 

4. Ride sharing is encouraged.

6. Those not driving should park vehicles on side streets near the Clubhouse rather than the parking lot. 

5. Remember to bring donation ( recommended $4) for the driver who is towing our trailer - gas prices are high! If you ride share, please share costs with your driver. 

Most importantly - remember the time change and meet at at VCKC and be ready to drive away 8:00 am.
