This is the Basic/Level 1 Kayak Course. If you have not yet completed the Basic Certification you can register to complete that segment only. For the who have not received their Basic Certification that instructors will assess your performance of required skills and if applicable invite to to challenge the level 1 certification.
There will be a Zoom session on Thursday October 14 as part of the course.
All participants are required to bring a face mask and hand sanitizer as these will not be provided. All efforts will be undertaken to ensure appropriate social distancing, however, in the event that less than the 2 meters occur you will need these items.
Participants will require appropriate clothing, which will include a wet or dry suit as you will be in the water for the recovery session. These can potentially be rented from Frank White's Dive Shop or Coastal Bliss Adventures. If you have your own PFD that would be ideal, however, it you need to borrow one from the Club that can be arranged. Participants can either use their own boats and safety equipment or use a club kayak. Kayaks will be reserved for the course so there is no need to contact the booking volunteer
Participants will be required to properly clean any equipment that is used at the end of the session.
Due to the current participant restrictions a maximum of 7 registrants will be excepted. We could incense the registration to 8 if a member has their own kayak.
Payment must be received at time of booking your spot or it will not be guaranteed.
There is limited places for purchasing food around the Club so it is best that you bring a lunch, snacks and beverages.
