The world’s most legendary marathon paddling race. In the "Race to the Midnight Sun," racers come from around the world to test their endurance and grit over the 715 kilometres with just one mandatory rest of 10 hours. As they make their way through two nights and three days from Whitehorse to Dawson City, racers brave the open waters of Lake Laberge and brace through Five Finger Rapids. Inevitably participants find themselves drawn into the spell of the Yukon, finding their souls as they retrace the route of the gold rush, pass historic Fort Selkirk, and embrace the nature and beauty of five indigenous territories on their way to the Klondike.
This annual event has been running since 1999 and is open to solo and tandem canoes and kayaks, stand-up paddle boards (SUPs), and bigger four-person and voyageur canoes.
