The team VCKC has put together is a Mixed Blended team named the "Island Storm Surge" to attend this years Penticton Dragon Boat Festival.
Held over two days in September, the racing happens on Skaha Lake in beautiful, sunny, Penticton, British Columbia, Canada.

Each program area is being asked to participate. Programs are encouraged to use this day to practice team and individual rescues. There will be safety clinics and activities for members and the general public.

VCKC FGPC Gorge-Fest Slalom Regatta.
The FGPC Gorge Fest Dragon Boat Pursuit-Slalom Regatta features three parallel slalom courses with staggered pursuit starts which will allow crews of different abilities to compete safely in exciting, closely contested races that are designed to bring boats to the finish line together.
Each of this one-day regatta’s 3 heats includes: • 100m straight-line acceleration zone • 300m gated slalom section • 100m straight-line sprint finish

Come join us for the annual Fall Clean-up at the clubhouse. Tasks include smartening up the outdoor spaces of the clubhouse, deck washing, BBQ cleaning, gutter cleaning, window washing and more. In addition we will be doing a thorough cleaning of the interior including meeting rooms, kitchen and storage areas.
This is a great way to meet other members of the club and put in your volunteer hours. The more people that show up the quicker things get done!
